Welcome to my website, www.DigitalMission.US! My name is Robert Bowling, a Digital Journalist from
Portland, Oregon... now living in Chiang Mai, Thailand. On these pages you'll find information and photos
on my current projects as well as the best of my older work. I've worked for three newspapers as a
Photojournalist and travelled to 31 countries. I've worked for Northwest Medical Teams in Romania, Albania
Health Fund in Albania, Young Life in Italy, taken five trips to Thailand to help folks working with tribal
people, and worked in Panama on the motion picture, End of the Spear.

As of October, 2009, I am now located in SE Asia! I will be living and working in the city of Chiang Mai in
the far north of amazing Thailand. I am taking a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course to
earn a certificate and then will teach English in this area. I will also be available to do volunteer
photography work with Mission groups or others. Email me with your project ideas!

As you may know, I have been helping a student from Panama, Marco Flaco of the Embera Tribe whom I
met during the filming of End of the Spear. Last year he had an enriching experience in Kansas City
attending Shawnee Mission North High School. NOW he has been accepted at EFL Learning Centre in
Chiang Mai, Thailand. It would be a fantastic learning experience for him and help his English soooo
much. (He is only hafl-way to fluency, and this is a KEY issue.) PLEASE CLICK on Education of Marco

You can also see some of the photos I took while I was working as the Still Photographer on the motion
picture, End of the Spear, which played in theaters in February '06 and is now out on DVD. I've written
an article about the experience of working on a movie set and also being involved with such an incredible,
true story. You'll even read how SEVEN of my photos got published in LIFE Magazine!

Also, you'll notice the Holocaust Journey link at right. I've added my award-winning newspaper article
about a journey with Holocaust survivor Alice Kern to visit Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen concentration
camps. It won a first place writing award for "Best Feature Story" in the 1999 Oregon Newspaper
Publishers Association yearly contest. (Yes, the staff photographer won the writing award - go figure.)

And lastly, be sure to check out the pages about Frontier Labourers for Christ, located in Chiang Mai,
Thailand, and their work with the underprivileged Akha, Lisu, Lahu, and Karen people in the mountains of

up-n-down adventure helping this
teenager I met on the movie set SIX
years ago now. We've had a few
setbacks, but we're continuing to see
what we can do to help him get a
quality education.

BOB IS ILL : Well, the first week of
2010 has seen Bob with the FLU, and
then a stomach ailment. Finally as of
Jan. 10... I am feeling better.
