Many of these people have an Animist belief system and live their lives trying to appease evil spirits by
sacrificing chickens and pigs, chanting spells, tying spirit bracelets to protect themselves, and performing
other ceremonies and rituals. They have no trouble believing in the spirit world, but many have never heard
about the power of God through Jesus Christ, who can give them His light, hope, and happiness. FLC trains
pastors and evangelists to go out and spread this Good News and has seen excellent progress over the
years through the efforts of these dedicated men and women.
Once a village begins to understand the message of God's love, and people make the decision to follow him,
FLC brings a program called the "Model Christian Village." A church is established and a pastor comes
regularly to help people study the Word and grow in faith. I have been to several of these villages and the
light and happiness in them compared to non-Christian villages I've seen, is absolutely amazing.
Many tribal villages have conditions which lead to poor health and high infant mortality. The lack of clean
water systems and adequate sanitation leads to diseases which not only cause sickness, but sometimes
even death. FLC works with villages, and work teams from North America, to install wells, water tanks, and
piping among the huts.
FLC also has sponsored Detox programs due to the drug problems among tribal people. Some people
smoke opium to ease the monotony of village life, or to abate the pain of worms in their stomach. And many
villages grow poppies for opium to sell for cash income. Frontier Labourers helps with crop substitution
programs so villages can grow coffee, ginger, and other crops for their cash income, and stay clear of the
horrendous health problems and difficult political situations entwined within the drug business.
On the other links above you will learn about the Barefoot Doctors program in Burma, view photos of a Model
Christian Village, learn a bit about Buddhism in Thailand, view the Frontierland Campus, and see the
wonderful FLC ministry in Chiang Mai with Beulah church and the ESL outreach program.
I hope you enjoy the photos on this website, and read the captions. Just CLICK on any photo to enlarge it. I
will be adding more information in the future to show you what an IMPORTANT work these people are doing,
the decisive inroads they are forging, and ways that YOU can partner to help them grow even STRONGER in
spiritual power, training of more Christian leaders, expansion of Frontierland Ministry Campus, and other
areas of ministry.
